Duskstar Shine's 3D Model Commissions.

3D models made from scratch, from modelling, to texturing, rigging, animation, up to to Unity game implementation for use in VRC.

 

Used for:

- VRChat avatars / virtual cosplays

- Animation rigs

- Other general 3D model needs

Avatar Commission prices:

£160 a day

  • BASE price: £160 (8 hours / 1 full day of work)

    • This price is £20 an hour, however paying for the whole day, not individual hours.

    • If only 1 day left but small task to finish up that will take under 4 hours, I'll allow that last day to be paid half price.

Average model time when working full time:

1 Day = 8 HOURS.

  • Modelling + Texturing: 1 - 3 days

  • Face expressions/shape keys: 1 - 2 days

  • Rigging: 0.5 - 2 days

  • Unity: 0.5 - 4 days

Length depends on the complexity of the character/amount and complexity of toggles!!

Example: Average cost for basic avatar, going by above times: 4 days - £640 (At the 70% discount: £192)
Example: Average cost for detailed/more complex avatar, going by above times: 6 days - £960 (at the 70% discount: £288)

  • (up to) 70% Discount.

For characters I feel may fit on my store (Such as Undertale AU related) I offer upto a 70% discount IF I can sell the avatar on my store after (Like Sakura Ink). This DOES NOT apply to every character, I will decide and tell you if it is eligible for the discount, and how much of a discount. You may have 1-2 private toggles for your personal version, such as Sakura!Ink's commissioner having private bunny ears.

  • Half commissions

You may commission me to do only part of the process (such as doing the modelling and rigging), then take the model files to another creator (or yourself) to finish/continue it at cheaper rates. This also means if the model takes longer than expected and you cannot afford to finish it, you will receive all of what I have made thus far, and can finish it yourself, or get someone else to finish <3

  • Props and toggles.

Extra props and toggles do not cost extra themselves, as it is a per hour rate, however the more things or complexity you want, the longer it may take thus will add to the price.

  • Public commission

You MAY have the avatar as public if you wish, however the public version will be public on my account (you can still have your own private upload though).   • My main TOS applies unless stated otherwise

  • You MAY NOT Use things within your commission to kitbash onto other unrelated avatars. You however are allowed to make changes to the original commission.

  • You MAY NOT Public an upload of your commission or the files to your commission publicly. If you want it public, I will make it public on MY account <3.

  • You MAY NOT Share your commission's files unless its with a trusted creator who is making changes to your commission that you trust to not distribute, reuse things from your commission, or break this TOS.

  • This TOS applies to whoever you give the files to, so make sure to send these to them so they don't break them. YOU are responsible for them not breaking the TOS.   Payment:  

First, Join my discord, I will only take commissions from those in my discord.

  • Submit a post and I'll give an estimate on how long the character would take to make (including all their toggles you list), and the price for that.

  • If your commission is chosen, I'll DM you, and we will discuss payment, whether you want to:

    • Pay in £160 chunks each day, (Work will not start until the payment has gone though).

    • Pay multiple days (or the full price) upfront together.

  • Payment is done through my Ko-fi.

  • I Will not continue work until the next day's work has been paid.

  • You MAY pay upfront if you wish (as mentioned above).

  • Once finished, you have one day to tell me if there are any bugs, and I'll fix those for free.

    • If a bug has been found MORE than 1 day after It's been finished/finalised, you will be charged the £20/hour rate to make changes.

    • If it has been more than 5 days after its been finished and changes are wanted, you will be put onto the bottom of the wait que.

( If you are not commissioning a VRChat avatar, such as an animation model or an animation, please DM me and inquire. I still charge my £20 hourly rate. )

How to submit a VRChat AVATAR commission and get chosen.

Create a post in the "#⁠commission-submit forum" in my discord server. This post needs to include:

  • A clear FULL BODY image of the character you want commissioned. This needs to be in colour! (no need for a T pose ref, just let me see the whole character).

    • If you need a ref sheet, you can use ⁠"#self-promo-selling-or-comms" in my discord server to find an artist to make a sheet! <3

    • The more references of the character the better!! <3  (just at least one should show their full body).

  • Be clear about any details that may not be clear on the ref images; such as, if the ref images vary in style/clothing make sure I know witch one to base off of, or parts that need to be retconned / ignored due to art style or old refs.

  • Make sure to list all the toggles and things you want on the avatar! Just remember, the more that's added, the longer it will take.

    • This includes props, interactive toggles, clothing, specific animations, and colour swaps

  • Make sure to put the 🟢or🔴 tags on your post, so I can know whether you can currently pay, or just posting there for commissioning later when you have the money.

    • I will only "pick" from those that are tagged green ( 🟢 ) and can pay the same/next day. I WILL NOT hold slots for you.

  • Once posted, I'll try to estimate the full time (and price) that it will take to make the avatar.

    • Just remember this is an estimate, so it may be more or less time than what I think it will be! So keep that in mind <3

  • When I open a commission, I will spin a wheel and select someone at random that as their post marked as🟢, then I'll DM them. This is to make it fair on who is chosen, instead of first come first serve (due to demand <3).

FAQ:

  • Can I commission Non Original characters, such as popular AUs?

I'm willing to make non OCs (for example classic Fell, Geno, Cross e.t.c.) HOWEVER if it is known/big AU you don't own, I will not make it exclusive to the user who commissions and will make a public or P2U version. I can put on a few private toggles for a personal upload and you still get the files, but as you don't own the character, you can't have it exclusively to yourself (Unless you get DIRECT permission from the AU owner).

  • Can you have complex toggles and custom animations?

Yes! Just know these may take LONGER to make!!! Animation especially, so it will up the price quite a bit.

  • Can I commission a custom version of one of your P2U avatars?

No and yes.. ⁠"#ink-base-commission-request" in my discord server is a channel for exactly this, however I'M not the one doing the commission, those who have permission to use my files will be the ones doing it! That channel works similar my commission one, so submit it there if you just want edits to an existent ink avatar of mine.

  • How did you decide your prices?

These prices are a little under what this job role SHOULD be paid for here in the UK:

"In the UK, the average salary for a 3D Modeller is £43,750 per year, or £21.03 an hour"
I charge £20 an hour in my prices here ♥ (And that's not even considering avatar work is "3D generalist" work, not just a modeler, which actually gets paid MORE! o-0 ) I may undercharge a lot on my store, but with commissions, due to the time I'm spending on a single character likely only for one person, I'm not wanting to undercharge myself (Which is also why I do the 70% discount for avatars that will sell on my store, both so the commissioner can have it cheaper, and the sales mean I don't loose money, but also that more than one person gets to use the avatar! ^-^ ) 3D modelling is what I want to do a job, since I'm disabled and can't get most normal jobs, this is one thing I can do as a job from home ^o^

What I won't do:

  • Sexual / NSFW based toggles and prefabs

  • Mechs / Ultra complex characters (you can always ask if your unsure)

  • Offensive / illegal subjects or symbols

  • Adding on Unity VRCFury based prefabs (you can always add it on yourself once it's done)

  • Characters you do not have permission to use/make as an avatar. ASK the creator for permission if they have no public info on using them!!
